What have YOU done with 2013?!?!?

What have YOU done with 2013?!?!?

It’s the end of September. Nine whole months have passed by since we entered 2013!! What were your aspirations at the beginning of the year: lose weight,  a better job, improve yourself in a particular area of your life?

If you recall some of my previous blogs, my goal was to be the fittest I’ve ever been in my life (a gift to myself for my 30th birthday in December). It has meant a lot of sacrifices and hard work- but I know it will all be worth it in the end. I don’t know about you but I am only driven more, knowing that the end of the year is closing in. This encourages me to push harder for the home stretch!

One of the main reasons I refuse to give up in what I have set out to do, is because I realize that my efforts impact more than just me. Last week, I did a motivational seminar for a high school assembly: it would have been my 5th seminar this year. I have another scheduled for November. My goal at the beginning of the year was to host 10 seminars. Am a fazed that 'time' is running out? No! I know that I have been proactive in getting these seminars and have made the effort.  In fact, I’m pushing myself even harder to ensure I get as close to that goal as I possibly can.  Today I found two more opportunities to host my seminars and this has re-energized me to reach my target! But if I don’t achieve my 10 seminars, it’s not a train smash- I will adjust myself and extended my deadline to March next year!
If I don’t reach my target, I can still reflect on WHAT I have achieved: I have spoken to over 600 people and personally mentor a handful of them! I started this blog which has over a 1000 readers, and I have my own .com website! Even if I have positively affected the life of only 1 person, I have done my job…

With only 3 months left in the year, it’s a perfect time to re-evaluate where you are in terms of what you want to achieve this year. Don’t be afraid to make realistic adjustments to your personal goals. If you need more time, then give yourself more; but the worst thing you can do right now is quite! Even if you’re not at the place you need to be: adjust yourself accordingly- but DO NOT QUIT!!!!
